"IF MY PEOPLE...HUMBLE THEMSELVES AND PRAY, AND SEEK MY PRESENCE... I WILL REVIVE THEIR LAND." (2 Ch 7:14)

"I encourage Christians regularly to visit Christ present in the Blessed Sacrament, for we are all called to abide in the presence of God. Jesus is not an idea or a feeling or a memory." "Jesus is a living person always present among us. Love Jesus present in the Eucharist" (Quotes of Pope John Paul II).

On Black Tuesday the terror of evil and sin--death and destruction--visited our world, and robbed it of thousands of precious human lives. There are no words that can adequately describe and capture those desperately dark moments in history. In the wake of this terrible tragedy, we know that we must turn to the Living God. On September 11, Theodore Cardinal McCarrick, Archbishop of Washington, D.C., offered these words at the Mass held at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception following the attacks,

"As the gospel tells us, power goes out to Him, not just to heal, but to strengthen, to console, to protect, to guard, to guide. Maybe we feel it especially at a time like this. That is good. The power was always going from Jesus. It is going from the word that He preaches, that He teaches us in the Gospel that we read. It is going out from the Eucharist which is the very life of Him inside our Church and inside our world. Jesus is our strength and our consolation. In the Old Testament, we cry out to God as our rock, our fortress, our deliverance, our refuge. He is still that and He always will be.... It is good that we are with Jesus, because that is where we find the strength; that is where we will find the consolation; and that is where, ultimately, in the mystery of Divine Providence all things work out."

Has there ever been a time in human history when we have needed Gods Divine Mercy, love and guidance more? Our Holy Father said, "Anyone who prays to the Saviour [in the Blessed Sacrament]draws the whole world with him and raises it to God." He went on to say, "Through adoration, the Christian mysteriously contributes to the radical transformation of the world" (Pope John Paul II, letter to the Bishop of Liege, 1996). When Jesus appeared to St. Faustina, the Divine Mercy messenger, He said "I desire that Adoration take place for the intention of imploring Mercy for the world."

"Adoration will heal our Church and thus our nation and thus our world... Adoration touches everyone and everything... [because it touches the Creator, Who touches everything and everyone]... When we adore, we plug into infinite dynamism and power. Adoration is more powerful for construction than nuclear bombs are for destruction" (Peter Kreeft, theologian).

"The time you spend with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament ... will help bring about an everlasting peace on earth" (Mother Teresa of Calcutta).

"In the tender compassion of our God, the dawn from on high shall break upon us, to shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death and to guide our feet in the way of peace" (Lk 1:78-79).

"Indeed, this is the will of My Father, that everyone who looks upon the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life" (Jn 6:40). At Fatima, prostrated before the Sacred Host, the Angel of Peace taught us a prayer of Adoration, that our prayers before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament are the secret power that will convert the whole world. Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration is the perfect fulfillment of all the requests of Our Lady of Fatima for prayer, penance and sacrifice. Mary, Our Blessed Mother, said that if her requests were met Her Immaculate Heart would triumph and there would be peace on the face of the earth!

"We can never underestimate the power of prayer, and must always rely upon the help of God. In a special way we commend our efforts to the Mother of God and our own Blessed Mother. The Rosary, especially prayed in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, is a powerful means of spiritual grace. In all of our efforts to promote the sanctity of human life, prayer is our first and strongest resource. May we rely upon the power of our Lords presence in the Blessed Sacrament and the intercession of His Blessed Mother to guide and help us" (Most Reverend Thomas Daily, Bishop of Brooklyn, NY). Our Lady, Queen of Peace, pray for us!

Your Holy Hours will Convert the World! Your Holy Hours will convert the whole world to Christ! This is witnessed powerfully in the life of the Little Flower, St. Therese of Lisieux. Although she never left her convent, and only lived to the tender age of 24, St. Therese accomplished great things through the power of Eucharistic Adoration. The Church made her the patroness of Missionaries to emphasize this most important truth: one soul coming before the Blessed Sacrament can change the world!

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid" (Jn 14:27).

In solidarity, let us offer Holy Hours of Adoration for the victims of the terrorist attacks in New York, Washington D.C., and Pennsylvania, and their families and their rescue workers. Pray for our leaders, our nation, our world.
