The Triumph of the Cross

"Christ's sacrifice on the cross imparts to the believer the dynamism of His generous love; the Eucharistic banquet nourishes the faithful with the Body and Blood of the divine Lamb sacrificed for us...." (Pope John Paul II)

"When you look at the crucifix, you understand how much Jesus loved you. When you look at the Sacred Host you understand how much Jesus loves you now." (Mother Teresa of Calcutta)

Through Christ's sacrifice on the Cross, we have His gift of His Personal Presence in the Holy Eucharist. "Though God is all powerful, He is unable to give more; though supremely wise, He knows not how to give more; though vastly rich, He has nothing more to give." (St. Augustine)

"On the Cross Jesus said: 'I thirst.' From the Blessed Sacrament Jesus continues to say to each of us: 'I thirst.' He thirsts for our personal love, our intimacy, our union with Him in the Blessed Sacrament. His longing for us to be with Him in the Blessed Sacrament is infinitely greater than our longing to be with Him." (Mother Teresa) Jesus continues to long for our presence and consolation as He did in the Garden of Gethsemani when He said, "Could you not watch one hour with Me?" (Mt 26:40).

Jesus calls out to each one of us to go to Him and to spend time with Him. He does this because He loves us so much that He wants to save us, heal us, care for us, nourish us and nurture us. Not only does He long to give these special gifts and graces to us, but to each one of our loved ones. Jesus loves us so much that He continues to shower miracles of love upon us. Is there a relative, friend, or loved one, whom you are deeply concerned about? Put them into the Sacred Eucharistic Heart of Jesus. Be convinced that Jesus will help them. Have absolute confidence and trust in the power of His love to bring them back to His Sacred Eucharistic Heart. For He promised: I will reign in every heart, in every home, in every country throughout the entire world. I will reign through the Omnipotent, all-powerful love of My Eucharistic Heart. This is what Jesus meant when He said to St. Margaret Mary: If you believe in My love (in the Blessed Sacrament), if you really believe in My love, then you shall see miracles of My love.

Not only does Jesus shower His graces upon us and our loved ones, but He allows us to share in the work of redemption. In the words of Archbishop Sheen, "The Holy Hour is not a devotion; it is a sharing in the work of redemption ... He [Jesus] asked for an hour of reparation to combat the hour of evil; an hour of victimal union with the Cross to overcome the anti-love of sin."

"What will convert America and save the world? My answer is prayer. What we need is for every parish to come before Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament in Holy Hours of prayer." (Mother Teresa)

Start Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration in your parish today!

Evil must be overcome with good. Greater evil must be overcome with greater good. The extraordinary evils of the world today must be overcome with the extraordinary good of Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration! Your sacrifice in spending one Holy Hour each week, especially in the middle of the night, will repair for the evils of the world and open up the floodgates of Gods merciful love upon all humankind. This is why our Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, in calling for unceasing adoration asks us to be "ready" to sacrifice that we may "make reparation for the great faults and crimes of the world" (Dominicae Cenae, Ch. I, Sec. 2, Art. 3).

"Closeness to Christ in silence and contemplation does not distance us from our contemporaries but, on the contrary, makes us attentive and open to human joy and distress and broadens our heart on a global scale. It unites us with our brothers and sisters in humanity and particularly with children, who are the Lords dearly beloved. Through adoration the Christian mysteriously contributes to the radical transformation of the world," (Pope John Paul II). Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ loves us so much that He laid His life down on the Cross for us. He continues to do this in the Most Blessed Sacrament. He calls us to unite with Him in His work of salvation and redemption. "Greater love than this no man has than to lay down his life for his friends" (Jn 15:13).

During this dark time in human history when Divine Life and Human Life are so devalued we need to go to the Author of Life. We need to turn to Him in love, reverence and expectant faith. We need to go to Him in humility to be guided, renewed and refreshed. We need to remember His words "I have come that they may have life, and have it more abundantly." "I am the Vine, you are the branches. He who lives in Me and I in him, will produce abundantly, for apart from me you can do nothing." (Jn 10:10,15:5)

As Mother Teresa said, "All of us know that unless we believe and can see Jesus in the appearance of the bread on the altar, we will not be able to see Him in the distressing disguise of the poor. therefore these two loves are but one in Jesus." "This is why you should ask your parish priest to have Perpetual Adoration in your parish. I beg the Blessed Mother to touch the hearts of all parish priests that they may have Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration in their parishes, and that it may spread throughout the entire world."
